What to know before ordering
The Linux system does not allow apps to be installed - it works exclusively through CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. The car's interface is still controlled by the iDrive controller and the steering wheel controls; the touchscreen is for the Linux screen. The sound is routed through the original system's AUX output (if AUX is not active, it must be enabled). The iDrive version is intended for cars delivered without factory navigation (an aftermarket iDrive module is added). Please confirm the version (iDrive) and the exact year of your car before purchase - we offer free technical assistance.

Compare your original menu and the connector behind the unit with the images below. These two reference points will help you choose the right version before ordering.
Important: iDrive is the general name for BMW's multimedia system. CCC, CIC, NBT and EVO are different generations. Some cars have no iDrive at all and use a Business or Professional radio.

Without iDrive
The car has no factory navigation or multimedia screen (no iDrive controller between the seats) - it usually has a Business or Professional radio. For these cars, the dedicated system is supplied with an aftermarket iDrive controller, for full control and an experience as close as possible to the original.
